Estimate the nominal hourly paddy capacity needed to meet a daily processing target, allowing for operating hours and utilization.
Utilization is the effective share of scheduled time. For example, 80% allows for feed interruptions and downtime.

Nominal capacity = daily paddy weight ÷ (operating hours × utilization ÷ 100). Planning range = calculated capacity × 1.00 to 1.20.

What the capacity estimate means
The result is nominal paddy-input capacity. It compensates for the fraction of scheduled hours during which productive processing occurs. It does not estimate finished white-rice output; use a separate measured recovery figure for that calculation.
Choosing utilization
Use operating records to estimate productive hours relative to scheduled hours. If eight scheduled hours contain about 6.4 productive hours, utilization is 80%. Do not deduct the same downtime twice by shortening the hours and then applying the same utilization allowance.
Worked example
A target of 10 metric tons per day over 8 hours at 80% utilization requires 10 ÷ (8 × 0.8) = 1.5625 metric tons per hour. Optional 20% headroom brings the upper planning figure to 1.875 metric tons per hour. This is arithmetic, not a machine rating.
Check the bottleneck
Compare the requirement with the documented capacity of cleaning, husking, separation, whitening and handling stages. Account for the material basis of each rating. One large machine cannot guarantee the complete line will meet the daily target.
